Fish, chips and boats

July 1, 2013

Home again, home again. It’s nice to be back and settle back into our routine, but I already miss the smell of the ocean.

We had a relaxing week: wake up slowly, head to the beach, come home and nap. Mostly we stayed in for dinner and enjoyed al fresco dining on our deck. We ventured out for a few casual meals. Our favorite place for dinner was the Sesuit Harbor Cafe in Dennis. We went one particularly hot evening and loved the cool breeze and fresh seafood. The place is hidden. A very small and subtle sign on the road (stating merely “CAFE” with an arrow) directs you into the Sesuit Harbor parking lot. Once inside, you follow a few more signs around until the cafe comes into view. You order inside and then scout a picnic table along the water, where you can munch your fresh fish and chips and watch the boats come and go.

After eating, you can grab a rock and continue to enjoy the view.

Like I said, nice to be home — but eating in our kitchen tonight didn’t quite compare.
